Senate finally passes RIAA back bill.

Posted in Music on October 24th, 2008 by admin – 1 Comment

Well, another blow for the pirating industry as the Senate passed an RIAA back bill that will further make stricter rules on intellectual property. This past week the Senate finally agreed with the RIAA backed bill and will now begin to enforce stricter rules and regulations of the piracy and distribution of all illegal and intellectual property.

The RIAA(Recording Industry Association of America) is the group that is trying to protect musicians and their right to release music and stop the pirating and illegal sharing of copyrighted music. This information and group all began to voice their disdain with pirating when Napster blew up the scene back in the early 2000’s. The full article and information regarding this bill can be found here.

David Lee Roth is 52!

Today is the day that Van Halen front man David Lee Roth turns 52.  Van Halen provided musical billboard hits such as “Jump,” and “Hot For Teacher.”  Van Halen was popular during the 80’s and continues to inspire musicians worldwide with their “always partying no matter what time of day attitude.”

Upon checking the rest of the music news today(and for this week actually) nothing is happening or has happened.  There will be an interview with Britney Spears on Meet the Press, and she will discuss her problems during the past two years.

Billboard Hit for this week was:  T.I. – Paper Trail

Billboard Hit for last week was:  Metallica – Death Magnetic

Aside from that, it’s been certainly quiet on the news front in the music business!  Heres to a better week for controversay and notable mentions next week!
