“Behind The Music” Making A Comeback.

Posted in Music Stories on March 20th, 2009 by admin – 1 Comment

VH1’s old mega hit music show, “Behind The Music,” is making a vaunted comeback with 10 new tapings of bands and their lives and tumultuous settings behind the scenes of the music industry.  I for one am totally happy, that VH1 has decided to bring back this great show, and am totally willing to stay up until 3 in the morning to see these shows.

I’ve always found it interesting how these music artists, co-habituate and live their expensive lifestyles, while putting up with the daily drama of being famous.  I also highly enjoy hearing about their complete history involving crimes, hardships, and joyful coming of age moments “Behind The Music” style.

This quote below was taken from the new your times.  Original article can be found here New York Times Article.

The Hollywood Reporter said VH1 would order about 10 new episodes of “Behind the Music,” which would chronicle the ups and downs of performers like Scott Weiland and Lil Wayne. “We always hear about the show, even now,” said Jim Olde, VH1’s executive vice president for original programming, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s amazing how much affection viewers have for it.” Jim Forbes, who provided the show’s distinctive voice-overs in its original run, will return as the narrator.

If this is true, and it is indeed being brought back, I wholeheartedly have many reasons to watch T.V. again.   Also, I must tell you, over at our website AlbertGifts.com, we have some awesome new Music Gifts, that are waiting for you to pick up today!

American Idol Losing Steam?

American Idol, has been as American as apple pie the last few years. I for one, have not been sucked into the show that continually grabs  double digit shares on ratings for whenever it is on.  However, with the addition of another judge, Kara DioGaurdi, it seems as if the American Idol train is still running strong even with viewership the lowest its been in the years past.

I for one am astonished how people keep coming out of the woodwork to show off their talent, providing some mega hits along the way from the previous winners such as Kelly Clarkson, and Carrie Underwood.  Although, I can safely say I wouldn’t watch them on my own, I have fallen victim to getting sucked in to the phenomenon, while my girlfriend gets me up to speed during the last few weeks.  I’ve even voted for the person she likes just to keep her happy, just as long as I don’t have to go to any pre-show concert or anything!

But, however, I’d love to hear from any reader out there, why is this show so enticing to you, and do you vote for your favorite person every week?

Chris Brown Charged With 2 Felonies.

Today certainly has been a day for good news and bad news.  Michael Jackson coming back on tour is good news for Europe.  However, Chris Browns alleged beating of girlfriend Rihanna, has come to light today as well.  Chris Brown was arraigned Thursday afternoon on charges of assault likely to cause great bodily injury and making criminal threats. The 19-year-old R&B singer remains free on $50,000 bail.

This apparently was not the first time this had happened between the two entertainers, but hopefully this is the last.  If Chris Brown is to be convicted of these charges, the penalties range from anywhere to probation, or maximum 4 years.  It’s an unfortunate situation that has more than likely destroyed the image of Chris Brown, forevermore, but in cases of abuse and domestic violence, justice certainly needs to be served.  AP story can be found here.

Michael Jackson Announces Comeback

It’s been a long time since I can say I have been surprised with something involving the music industry.  However, today as expected after at least a months worth of rumors spreading, Michael Jackson has announced his come back.  Jackson, looking noticeably worse than previous times seen in public announced he will partake in a least 10 shows, pending health throughout the time span.

I for one, am excited and blown away by how much this man is loved in England and beyond.  It is certainly safe to say that this man is still the “King of Pop” over there!  This announcement takes place 5 years after his damaging child abuse trial in which he was found innocent.

The 50 year old Jackson, stated during press conference “This is the final curtain call and I’ll see you in July,” and I love you, I really do. I love you so much” as he spoke for about 10 brief minutes to throngs of fans.  Its unkown at this point if this his last tour ever, or more to come.  Either way, it’s sure to raise some eyebrows.
