Adam Yauch, MCA of ‘Beastie Boys’ is dead at 47
In a sad turn of events, Adam Yauch(MCA) of famous 80′s and 90′s rap group Beastie Boys has passed away due to his bout with cancer.
In 2009, MCA announced he was being treated for a cancerous parotid gland and a lymph node (below). He has since undergone surgery and radiation therapy.
Russell Simmons‘ website first reported the death. We have spoken to people independently connected to the rapper who also say he is dead.
MCA co-founded Beastie Boys in 1979 with Mike D, and Ad Rock. The group has won multiple Grammys and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year.
MCA became a vegan at the recommendation of his Tibetan doctors.
It’s another sad day in 2012 for the music industry. They changed a lot of the way music was presented on Television and across the radio.

The beastie boys, who was and still is an icon of my generation will always remain in my music genre while driving, working, and recreational activities for a life time. The Beatie Boys are truely an amazing band who not only rapped but created their own musical beats via instruments. Not many rappers can compared to the Beastie Boys. It is such a tragic to hear of MCA passing away, his voice and style could never be replaced. I will keep his voice alive every day while driving in my car with 20+ mix CDs I’ve created with beasties boys and other music icons I enjoy listening to every day. Rest in peace Adam Yauch <3
I was never a fan, in fact didn’t like them or their style when they came out. I am mourning thourgh you guys; since the music affected you profoundly, and was an anthem to your formative years.I can’t really see how it is missing the theme any theme, to post beautiful girls, since they are a celebration of life itself, a reminder that blood is still flowing thourgh our veins, a reassurance to us who are still drawing a sweet breath, and are not facing the abyss.
